Born March 22, 1916, he was a son of Oscar and Katie McMath Prude. His wife, Mrs. Edith Bailey Prude, died June 16, 1949. He was a lodge member at Coalwood, W. and he was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church in Marion.

Surviving are his parents who live at Bessemer, four sons, Lester Prude, Floyd Prude Jr. and Larry and Norman Prude, all of the N. Grand Ave. address; "four sisters, Mrs. Joshua Collins of N.

Grand Mrs. Evelee Rut-ledge and Mrs. Lucy Smith of Birmingham, and Mrs. Katie Thomas of Detroit, and three brothers, Oscar Prude of Akron and James D. and Primes Prude of Buffalo, N.

Gardner, 60, Succumhs in Chicago Word has been received by relatives here of the death in Chicago Wednesday of Hugh S. Gardner, 60, a native of Cardington and a journalist in Chicago for 35 years. He was ill since Jan. 5. Funeral services were conducted Saturday and burial was in a Chicago cemetery.

His parents were Lewis and Mayme Gardner. He was graduated from Cardington High School then from the law school at Ohio State University and from Northwestern Universiy at Chicago. After deciding to go into newspaper work, he served -first as city ine uev. William B. Eddy will conduct the services at the First Church of God in Lima and burial will be in Salem Cemetery north of Lima.

The accident victim was riding in a car driven by her husband, Charles O. Evers. He was slightly injured, and a daughter, Dorotha, 33, also in the car, is in fair condition in a Lima' hospital where she is being treated for a severe back injury. The automobile skidded out of control on the icy pavement, and turned over in ditch as the family were on their way to church. Mrs.
