Porter of 838 Oak Grove with whom he had resided since December. A former resident of Cincinnati, Mr. Mentzer was a member of the Eagles Lodge there and worked for the Standard da Publishing until his retirement three years ago. He was born Aug. 29, 1882, in Mansfield to Franklin D.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. George R. Wood George R. Wood, 84, of near Erie, a former resident of Caledonia died Friday morning in Erie.

A native of England, he settled in Caledonia when he came to this country and resided in Marion County until 1915 when he went to Erie. His wife, Mrs. Lulu McConnell Wood, is deceased. Surviving are three sons. Robert and George, both of Erie, and Forest of New York City, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday in Erie, after which the body will be brought to Caledonia for graveside services in the Caledonia Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday. Earnestine Johnson Miss Earnestine Johnson, a native of LaRue, died at 10 p.m. Friday at her home in Columbus following an illness of six months. Surviving are her mother, Mrs.

Leona Rosebrook Johnson of Columbus and brothers and sisters. Her father was the late O. R. Johnson of LaRue. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday in the ate Funeral Home on S. High St. in Columbus followed by graveside services and burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Mrs. David Washam Mrs.

Agnes O. Washam, 86, who had resided with her daughter, Miss Gladys Edelman of 341 Powhatten died Friday morning at 10:30 in the Mrs. Francis Thomas Nursing Home at 139 Charles St. She was born in Marion April 7, 1872, to John Cull of Richland Township and Margaret Hettler Cull of Baden, Germany. She was first married to William Edelman in 1893.

Her second marriage was in 1916 to David Washam. Both preceded her in death. A member of Salem United Church of Christ, she is survived by her daughter, Miss Edelman, who is a teacher at Vernon School, and a grandson, Herbert Paul Goedicke of Oak St. Another daughter, Mrs. Wilda Goedicke, preceded her in death.

The Rev. L. Harrison Ludwig will conduct funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. in the Schaffner-Denzer Funeral Home at 360 E. Center followed by burial in Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 tonight. Edward Roley BUCYRUS Edward Roley, 89, a retired building contractor, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Roley, of Williams St.

He had been in failing health for the last five years and had made his home with his son and daughter-in-law for the last four years. Born June 21, 1868, in Baltimore, 0., he was the son of Daniel and Sarah Alt Roley. He was married in 1890, to Anna Weller, who died in 1946. He had made his home Bucyrus nearly, 70 years. in Three grandchildren survive.

Mr. Roley retired from the construction business 14 years ago. Mrs. J. Alfred Gehrig BUCYRUS Mrs. Emma L. Gehrig, 79, of Bucyrus died Friday morning in her home of a heart condition.

She had been in failing health for several weeks. She was born Nov. 12, 1878, in Hannibal, a daughter of Abram and Elizabeth Rufener. In 1907 she was married to J. Alfred Gehrig.

Surviving with her husband are two sisters, Mrs. Thayer Brown of near Bucyrus and Mrs. F. J. Nieman of McMechen, W.

Va. Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. She came to Crawford County in 1909 and was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday School class and Circle 1 of the church. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wise Funeral Home.

The Rev. Thomas J. Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
