16 THE MARION STAR Tuesday, January 21, 1969 Deaths and Funerals GALION-Services for Francis Howell, 76, of Upper Arlington. husband of the former Edith Swisher of Galion, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Rutherford Funeral Home on N. High St. in Columbus.

The body will be brought to Galion for burial at 35 p.m. Thrusday in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Frank MarLett of Galion will officiate at graveside services. Mr.

Howell died Monday morning at the Hilliard Rest Home, following a period of failing health. He was retired after a long tenure as comptroller and treasurer of the Morehouse-Fashion Store in Columbus. He was a member of Masonic orders. Mrs. Leon R.

Noble Francis Howell WEST MANSFIELD Services for Mrs. Cora Ruth Noble. 70. relative of area residents, will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the East Liberty Church of Christ.

She died Sunday in Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine after a two-week illness. Her husband. Leon Rex. died in 1955. She was an East Liberty native and a retired postal clerk.

Born Nov. 20. 1898. she was a daughter of Daniel and Mary Ellen Dunham Lippencott. She married Mr.

Noble Jan. 1. 1918. in Marion. Surviving are a son.

Robert of East Liberty: three grandchildren: three great dren, and a sister in Bellefontaine. Arrangements are being handied by Ballinger Funeral Home of West Mansfield where friends may call. Carl J. Kibler J. Kibler, 60.

of RR 1, Bloomville, near Lukens, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday in Bucyrus Community Hospital following a heart attack. He had operated Streaker Tractor Sales of Tiffin and was a Crawford County native. Born May 9. 1908, he was a son of Peter and Ella Hill Kibler.

He was a member of Monnett Chapel Church. Surviving are his widow. Naomi Beck Kibler: a son. Robert of Tampa, three foster daughters, Mrs. Fred Beck of Mrs.

David Hudson of San Antonio, and Mrs. Charles Poling of Huntington, two foster sons, John of Nevada and Earl home; five grandchildren, and sister. Mrs. Elmer Michener of Republic. Four brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Services will be Thursdav at 2 p.m. in Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus. Rev. John Martin and Rev. Foster Campbell, will officiate.

Burial will Union Cemetery east of Sulphur Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and night. Otis O. Johnston GALION Otis 0. Johnston, 75, of Galion died at today inn Community Hospital, In 1959, retired from association with American Steel Abrasives Co.

He was a Kentucky native and World War I veteran. Born Dec. 18. 1893, in Greenville, he was a son of John and Patience Johnson Johnston. Durthe war, he served in France and came to Ohio in 1918.

from Kentucky. A Florida resident nine years, he returned here in July. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and American Legion. Surviving are his widow. 0thora Scarborough Hager Johnston; 2 sons, Rev.

J. Fred Johnston of Orleans and Robert of Melbourne, a 3 daughters. Mrs. Cari Rush of RR 2. Galion, Mrs.

Richard Kime of Galion and Mrs. Ruby Pack of Miami, 2 stepdaughters, Mrs. Charles Hendrickson of Mansfield and Mrs. of Galion; 18 grandchildren: 10 great grandchildren; a brother. Edward of Polk.

and 2 sisters, Mrs. Vandola Buchanan of Arizona and Mrs. Mona Brown of Bucyrus. Two brothers are deceased. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m.

Dennis R. Landon CARDINGTON Dennis R. Landon, 60, of 125 Re Reichelderfer died Monday at 2:55 p.m. in Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Fulton. following an illness of vears.

He Jan. 12. 1909, in Peru Township, Morrow County, to Samuel and Fanny Chevalier Landon. In 1932 he married Helen Waterer. She died Nov.

7. 1965. A life resident of the Cardington community. he was employed 20 vears by HPM Division of Koehring Co. Surviving are three sons, Bradley and Andrew of Cardington and Thomas of RR 3.

Galion; a daughter, Chester Foust of Cardington; three brothers, Robert of Chesterville, Oren of Portsmouth and Arden of Ashley. and seven grandchildren. A brother and five sisters are deceased. He had suffered a previous heart attack about four years ago. association with his Albert W. Kette, in the insurance business, he became a foreman at Arro Expansion Bolt Co. then in the early 1950s began operation of the Dixie Cream Doughnut Shop. A World War I veteran.

he established the air raid warning system here and was first air raid warden. During the war he had been an Army sergeant in the Motor Transportation Corps. enlisting in July. 1918 and serving until October. 1919.

Born March 12. 1893, in New Matamoras, he a son of Fred and Julia Tisher Kette. In 1912, he came here from Marietta. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Sue M.

Saxe Kette whom he married in 1940 in Cuyahoga Falls. his brother A. W. of Lakeside and another brother, Ralph of Sacramento, Calif. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m.
