The Marion Star, Monday, March 6, 1989 Page 3 Obituaries Route 2, a Caledonia native, died Saturday at Williams County Community Hospital here. 1. He was born Sept. 28, 1915, a son of George W. and Edna Murphy A teacher with Bryan City Schools for 37 years, he retired in 1977.

He former director Bryan branch of Bowling Green State University and had taught school in Fayette for one year Mr. Cayton graduated form High School and received his bachelor's and master's degree from BGSU. Before going to college he had served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. A member of Wesley United Methodist Church here, he was a past master of Bryan Masonic Lodge, a member of High Twelve Club and charter member of Bryan Lions Club. His first wife, the former Iva Mawer, whom he married Aug.

6, 1939, died in 1972. He married Vernetta Hoffman Blairr April 6, 1974, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, James Cayton, Long Mount, David Cayton, Perrysburg, and David Blair, Summerville, S.C.; a daughter, Martha Holloran, Colorado Springs, and five grandchildren. brothers and a stepbrother are deceased. a The service will be 1 p.m.

Mr. Cook died at 7:18 p.m. Friday in Mansfield General Hospital. He had been in failing health three years. Born Dec.

30, 1955, in Tiffin, he was a son of William and Nancy Squeo Cook, who survive in On May 29, 1976, he married Brenda Brown Cook, who also survives. For 10 years, he was employed with Excel Wire and Cable in Tiffin, from where he moved to Bucyrus in 1977. He graduated from Tiffin-Columbian High School with the class of 1974 and was a member of Christian Apostolic Church, Bucyrus. Other survivors are two daughters, Heather and Ashley, and a son, Deric, at home; a brother, Jay Cook, Florida; and three sisters, Mrs. Mark (Julie) Teynor, Sulphur Springs, and Jenny Kondrotz and Mrs.

David (Jackie) Roberts, Florida. Roy Eaton Roy Eaton, 86, 660 Wood died Saturday evening at The Arbors nursing home, Delaware, having been ill since 1980. He was born July 29, 1902, in Pottersburg, a son of Chester and Ioma Bergandane Eaton. Mr. Eaton had been employed as a silk weaver at the former Susquehanna Silk Mill and had been a millwright with Eaton Corporation.

He was of Methodist faith and had been active in Scouting. He was a booster member of Marion Drum and Bugle Corps and charter member of Troop 2 Hardin Area Council of Boy Scouts. His wife, the former Lelah Cahill, whom he married June 26, 1920, in Marion, died Aug. 16, 1966. Surviving are two sons, Walter Eaton, Waldo, and Donald Eaton, Marion; two daughters, Mrs.

Edward (Jane) Leedom and Otto (Betty) Senig, Marion; eight grandchildren; and 22 andchildren. Two brothers are deceased. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. T.E.

Donaugh officiating. Burial will be in Claridon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. William S.

Pfahler BUCYRUS William S. Pfahler 72, 204 Penn died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday aye in Bucyrus Community Hospital. had been in failing health six months and seriously ill one week. Born Jan.

27, 1917, in Crawford County, he was a son of George Lester and Mary Lanker Pfahler. On March 12, 1934, he married Hazel B. Oberlander Pfahler, who died June 3, 1966. In 1977, Mr. Pfahler retired from Swan Rubber Co.

He was a lifetime member and past governor of Bucyrus Moose Lodge 669 and also Legion of the Moose; was past captain of State Highway Patrol Auxiliary of Wyandot County; and past Little League vice president. Surviving are four sons, Ronald E. and Robert Bucyrus, William, Likens, and Carl, Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. John (Judy) Kellogg, Nevada; a stepsister, Wilma Ruffaddress not available; nine grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. A brother and a sister are deceased.

The service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home by the Rev. M.P. Paetznick. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.

Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart in care of the funeral home. Arthur F. Rowse UPPER SANDUSKY Arthur F.

Rowse, 70, 327 S. 7th died Sunday evening at Wyandot County Nursing Home. An Upper Sandusky native, he was born April 23, 1918, a son of Frank and a Sarah a Brewer Rowse, and was raised by Harpster and Nellie Taylor. Rowse retired in 1974 from employment with Cobey's Manufacturing Bucyrus, and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He attended Wildwood Chapel. On June 3, 1945, he married Evelyn E. Swinehart, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons and two daughters, James A. and (Sue) Mayberry a and Mrs.

Thomas L. Rowse, and Mrs. David a (Sarah) Melroy, addresses not available; three brothers, John, Emmit and Paul 1 Rowse, adresses not available; a foster sister, Mary McCreary, address not available; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death. The service will be 11 a.m.

Thursday at Upper Sandusky Chapel of Lucas Funeral Homes with the Rev. Richard Piatt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chapel or Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association. Sallie M. Pell BUCYRUS Sallie M. Pell, 78, Oceola, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Bucyrus Community Hospital.

She had been seriously ill six months. Born Feb. 7, 1911, in Vanceburg, she was a daughter of Ernest and Aura Doyle Horsley. On May 3, 1930, she married Fred Pell, who died March 16, 1977. The homemaker er moved to the Bucyrus area in 1942, from Kentucky.

She attended Pilgrims Holiness Church, Nevada. Surviving are a son, Arnold Pell, Rowlesburg, W.Va.; two daughters, Maxine Barciz, Bucyrus, and Doris Pell, Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Pearl Fergerson, Vanceburg, Lena Stamm, Camp Dix, and Berta Bristow, Ocean Grove, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren. Three daughters, a brother and two sisters are deceased. The service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home by the Rev.

Lloyd Campbell. Burial will be in Oceola Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Harold Seif HEATH Harold Seif, 57, a former Cardington resident, died of an aneurysm Feb. 18 in Iowa City. A resident here, Mr. Seif was working in Iowa at the time of his death. Bruckner-Kishler Funeral Home was in charge of the service, which was at Heath United Methodist Church Feb.

23. Burial was in Wilson Cemetery, Newark. He was born March 18, 1931, in Mount Gilead to the late Gerald and Myrtle Garver Seif. A 1952 graduate of Cardington High School, Mr. Seif was self-employed as a telecommunications instrument engineer.

He was a former firefighter for the Newark Air Force Base, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Newark Amateur Radio Association, American Radio Relay League and MARS. He also was a member of Heath United Methodist Church. Mr. Seif is survived by his wife, the former Olive Kirkpatrick, Heath, whom he married in 1981; a stepdaughter, Mrs.

Hilton (Ann Lee) Watts, Cincinnati; two stepsons, Jon R. Kirkpatrick, Denver, and Richard Lee Kirkpatrick, Plano, Texas; seven stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. Betty Jean Styer ing at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bonanza, Oct. 27, 1939, the daughter of William James and Ruth Merritt Spradlin, who survive in Kenton.

Mrs. Styer was employed with Smith Corporation, Upper Sandusky, and was a member of Ladies of the Moose and Local 1643 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker. Henry L. Wenner UPPER SANDUSKY Henry Lawrence Wenner, 96, 351 W. Wyandot died at 7:10 p.m. Sunday in Oakwood Manor nursing home, Bucyrus. He was born Feb.

12, 1 1893, in Carey, to Charles and Rosanna Fawl Wenner. On June 12, 1917, he married Nora Edith Moser, who died May 19, 1972. The 1911 graduate of Carey High School and 1915 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Agriculture farmed in Huron County, represented Federal Land Bank 34 years and operated a real estate and insurance business, retiring in 1972 as an active businessman. He was a member of First Lutheran Church for 49 years; a member of Masonic Lodge, Chapter and Council; a charter member of Carey Kiwanis Club; and a former chairman of Wyandot County Chapter, American Red Cross. Surviving are a son, Dr.

Donald R. Wenner, Bucyrus; two daughters, Mrs. E.Z. (Jeanne) Ramey, Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. L.G.

(Janis) Nye, Findlay; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Two brothers, Clarence and Forrest, are deceased. The service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bringman and Co. funeral home by the Rev.

Daily Record Marion police CHARGES FILED Police Thursday charged David E. Furniss, 19, 602 Mary with carrying a concealed weapon and pointing discharging firearm after an incident in the parking lot at Oak Street School, 565 Oak St. According to a police report, an officer saw Furniss allegedly pointing a long gun at a 21-year-old rural Marion man. The officer exited his cruiser and pointed his service revolver at Furniss, ordering him to drop the gun and step away from it, which he did, the report said. The gun was later discovered to be a BB gun, the report said.

Officers Saturday charged Rocky L. Gordon, 29, County Road 170, Box 151, with disorderly conduct by intoxication after an incident at Rotary Towers, 400 Delaware Ave. Saturday police charged Clinton L. Faggs 24, 475 Polk with domestic violence after an incident at his residence. Police Sunday charged Matthew Smith, 22, 259 Blaine with escape prior to confinement.

Sunday officers charged Charles W. Evans, 63, Worthington, with auto theft. Police Sunday Terry E. Huggins, 29, 167 Latourette Apt. 3, with disorderly conduct by intoxication after he was found at the rear of 158 Latourette St.

Officers at 2:36 a.m. charged Steven Crissinger, 31, 206 Olney with DUI and driving under suspension and cited him for speeding on North Main Street at Klerx Street. MAN CUT Police Sunday investigated a fight in which Kenneth L. Kelley, 407 Monroe allegedly was cut with a pocket knife at his residence, a police report said. While investigating, officers served a warrant on a charge of failure to appear to Randy L.
