Community wheat production control meetings in Marion county entered the final educational stage last night, with an attendance of 140 farmers at a meeting in the Claridon school building. R. H.

Gilbert, emergency agricultural assistant in Marion county, was in charge and reported that 120 farmers r.ere given application blanks. Educational meetings in the county will continue through Friday of this week, to be followed shortly with meetings where farmers may sign contracts with the government to reduce their wheat production in return for benefit payments. Farmers at last night's meeting were from Claridon and Richland townships. E. L.

Trout and Ed Grey, temporary community committeemen, assisted with the meeting. Tonight farmers from Prospect township will meet at 8:30 in the Prospect echool building. Wednesday, a meeting of Tully and Scott township farmers will be held at 8:30 p. m. in the Martel schooi building.

Mr. Melcher was born In Polk township, Oct. 13. 182. He was married Oct 9.

1908, to Hattle Gregory. who survive with his mother and two sons, uoraan ana Myron, both at home. One sister, Mrs. Grover Staley of Cleveland, alfo survives. He was employed in the ear department of tht New York Central hops.

GEORGE MONTGOMERY CLAIMED BY DEATH Marion County Farmer Dies at Age of 89; Funeral To Be Thursday. George Montgomery, 89, a resi dent of Marion county for more than 60 years, died of complication of diseases today at 2 a.

m. at his home northeast of Agoata on the farm where he established a home when he came to the United States from Colraine, County Perry, Ire land, In 1870. Mr. Montgomery was the father of Miss Martha Montgomery of Washington, D. personal secretary to the late Senator Frank B.

Willis for a number of years before his death, and later secretary to Myers Y. Cooper while he was gov ernor of Ohio. Miss Montgomery is now In a government office in Washington. Surviving Mr. Montgomery are his widow, Mrs.

Sarah Montgomery, eight sons and daughters. Miss Martha Montgomery, Mrs. E. R. Shields of west of Marlon, Mrs.

I. W. Schmidt, Mrs. Paul Gracely and Mrs. Lorena Kalb, all of Agosta, Samuel H.

Montgomery of Ravenna, Frank G. Montgomery of rv-Cliff and Robert Montgomery of Chicago, 13 grandchildren and a 90-year-old alster Miss Betty Montgomery of 653 North State street Mr. Montgomery was born March 23, 1844. to Robert and Mary Ann Patterson Montgomery, both natives of Ireland. He came to this country when he was 26 years of age, and settled In Marion county, on March 11, 1884.

was married to Sarah Leeper. Mr. Montgomery was a follower of the Presbyterian faith. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p. m.

After the dismissal, Justice Kin-csie bound Starling to tha grand jury on an embezzlement charge, filed by Oberlander. Starling, who formerly operated a filling station at Richwood for Oberlander, had been accused by hl employer of embezzlement of $'i2.

Oberlander aaid he notified Starling; he was coming to Rich-wood at a certain time to make a settlement. Starling Is said to have locked up the station and to have been away when Oberlander arrived. In his charge. Starling aaserts that Oberlander hired a carpenter, took off the door of tha station and obtained the books and accounts. Mrs. Johnson was born In Hardin county on March 23, 1S62. She Is survived by the son, Clifford; one daughter, Mrs, Nellie Seller of Mt. Victory; four sisters, Mrs. G.

The bedy will be brought to Prospect tonight or Wednesday morning. Private funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 at the R. L. Watkin home. Burial will be In the Prospect cemetery.

Mrs. Watkin was born In Prospect and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M.

Stockwell. She was graduated from the Prospect High school and attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Surviving are the husband, who with his father, R.
